Box Springs Mountain
Regional Park
More than 1,150 acres of Box Springs Mountain
are set aside as open space and a natural pre-
serve. Equestrians, mountain bikers and hikers
can enjoy more than 15 miles of trails and fire
roads that crisscross the park. The views are spec-
tacular. On clear days, you can see all three of
Southern California's major mountains--San
Antonio, San Gorgonio and San Jacinto.
Stretched before you are panoramic views of
Moreno Valley and Riverside. The mountain is
home to 19 species of reptiles, 16 of mammals
and more than 85 types of birds. Many varieties
of wild flowers bloom in the spring.

March Field Museum
March Field Air Museum, on the March Air
Reserve Base, serves as home base to over 70 his-
toric aircraft. A huge hangar is full of planes,
models and other historical memorabilia of
American aviation. Outside the museum, you can
get up close to an SR-71 Blackbird; B-47, B-52,
fighters from WWII and Korea, and other vintage
aircraft. A helpful staff and knowledgeable vol-
unteers will enhance your visit to this truly re-
markable aviation museum. Nominal suggested
donation, free parking. Take the Van Buren Blvd.

Moreno Valley Mall at
TownGate
Discover the best in shopping at the newly reno-
vated Moreno Valley Mall. More than 100 stores,
specialty shops and restaurants, including Macy's,
JC Penney, and Sears. The 16-screen Harkins
Theatres at the Mall is the area's major enter-
tainment venue. The 1.2 million sq. ft. Moreno
Valley Mall, built in 1992 on land that used to be
part of the Riverside International Raceway, has
seen extensive retail development in the sur-
rounding area. Moreno Valley Mall has become
the centerpiece for one of the largest shopping
districts in Riverside County. Whatever you're
looking for--shopping, dining, entertainment, it's
at the Moreno Valley Mall or nearby.

Lake Perris
Within minutes of the City's downtown, Moreno
Valley residents can escape the hustle and bustle
at the 8,000-acre Lake Perris State Recreational
Area. Formed by Perris Dam, Lake Perris offers
swimming, fishing, boating, sailing and waterski-
ing. There's even a special area for scuba diving.
The park has over 6,000 acres of open space land
with trails open to hiking, biking, or horse riding.
Rock climbing is featured near the dam. At the
Ya' Heki' Regional Indian Museum visitors learn
about the cultures of native tribes throughout the
Southern California desert region.
Lake Perris State Recreational Area is less than 10
miles south of Moreno Valley via Highway 60 or I-215.

Moreno Valley Trails
Under the Moreno Valley Master Plan of Trails,
residents will have alternative ways of getting
around town. While there are many miles of trails
to enjoy right now, when the system is complete
more than 56 miles of connected trails will criss-
cross the City. The trails provide healthy, fun
recreation--and you can get about with no stops
at the gas station and zero carbon emissions!
Several staging areas facilitate specific trail heads,
including the Rancho Verde Staging area,
Moreno Valley Equestrian Center and many park
facilities.
Moreno Valley Ranch
Golf Club
The Moreno Valley Ranch Golf Club is the jewel
of the Inland Empire. At the base of Mt. Russell,
the course's natural and rugged setting provides
a backdrop for great golf and great sight seeing.
Designed by renowned architect Pete Dye, the
27-hole facility features a large natural-grass
range, multiple putting greens, and a comfort-
able clubhouse.

Celebration Park
When the temperature sizzles, Celebration Park is
the place to be. Opened in 2006, the 6.5 acre park
features water-play equipment, including water
cannons and nozzles that spray water out of the
ground or overhead. Celebration Park is also per-
fect for large gatherings. It has a picnic shelter ca-
pable of hosting about 200 people. Besides the
huge picnic shelter and fun and refreshing water-
play equipment, the park also has a basketball
half-court, slides and playground equipment, a
restroom, a walking path around the park perime-
ter and freestanding barbecue grills.
